Giro dei Cinque Laghi di Madonna di Campiglio

This beautiful hike is an alternative version to the classic route on the slopes of the Presanella group and offers stunning views of the Dolomites of Madonna di Campiglio

This stunning route is embedded in one of the most impressive landscapes of the world, the Brenta Dolomites, where you can live the alpine world in all its different facets.

If you opt for the classic version of this hike, you won't pass the lakes Tre Laghi, Lago Alto and Lago delle Malghette, but descend from Lago Serodoli to Lago Nero and Lago Nambino to return to Madonna di Campiglio on path no. 217. the version described in this text is more demanding but as marvellous as the classic one and requires two more hours of walking.

Even though this path is comfortable and widely known, it requires good physical fitness for its altitude and length. It is recommended to bring something to drink as the refreshment points along the route are distant from each other. Because of its length, we recommend starting early in the morning.

After taking the 5 Laghi cable car in Madonna di Campiglio, at the eponymous mountain hut we take path no. 232 towards Lago Ritorto and Lago Lambin and arrive at Lago Serodoli. After a very short detour to admire also the adjacent Lago Gelato at the foot of Passo di Nambrone, we continue on path no. 226B towards the Bocchetta dei Tre Laghi.

Here we need to be cautious about taking the right path and not walk towards the via ferrata Sentiero Bozzetto al Monte Zeledria. In fact, we need to turn left onto path 267 descending to Tre Laghi, Lago Alto and Lago delle Malghette, the last lake of our hike.

Attention: The section between the Bocchetta and Tre Laghi is not well marked and it is therefore easy to miss the right path. Please be cautious and follow our GPX track.

From Lago delle Malghette with its eponymous mountain hut, we return to Madonna di Campiglio on path no. 201 which descends towards Campo Carlo Magno.
