Caldes with its hamlets Samoclevo, San Giacomo, Cassana, Tozzaga, Bordiana and Bozzana is surounded by apple and fruit orchards, including those of Melinda at the entrance to the Val di Sole.

In the eastern part of the village you can admire the ancient walls of Castel Caldes overlooking the Noce stream. Built in 1230, this monument was modified several times and recently renovated. According to its history, it was also the setting of many ancient legends. Adjacent to the castle rises the small but interesting chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary which hosts some impressive frescoes painted by Elia Naurizio.

The hamlets of Caldes are worth a visit too. The village of Samoclevo in fact is well-known for the Rocca di Samoclevo, a fortress overlooking the lower part of the valley from the slopes of Monte Vesa at almost 1,000 m of altitude.
