The longest mountain chain in the east of the Trentino
Image gallery: Lagorai
The Lagorai group is situated south of Predazzo and mainly composed of porphyry rocks, that is, eruptive rocks formed of quartz and orthoclase. The north-eastern area of the massif is embedded in the Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Nature Park.
This mountain range stretches between Monte Panarotta and the Passo Rolle for 70 km. In the north it is delimited by the Val di Fiemme, in the west by the Val di Cembra and in the east by the Valle di Primiero and Vanoi. The rock walls of the Lagorai glimmer in different colours ranging from shades of black to red and green.
The only passable saddle by car is the Passo Manghen between the Valsugana and the Val di Fiemme.
