Mountain tour to the Rifugio Torre di Pisa on Latemar

Path no. 516 leads from the pastures of Passo Feudo to the Forcella dei Camosci across the slopes below Cima Valsorda

The Rifugio Torre di Pisa (2,671 m a.s.l.) owes its name to the oblique pinnacle in its immediate vicinity, which resembles the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Our hike begins at Passo Feudo (2,190 m a.s.l.) which we reach by the Latemar cable car from Predazzo and the Gardonè chairlift. The path runs uphill right away, however, it is well-secured and we arrive at Rifugio Torre di Pisa without difficulty. At the mountain hut, we admire the Torre di Pisa rock formation before walking towards Cima Valsorda.

Path no. 516 leads us to the turn-off for Forcella dei Camosci, where we take path no. 18, leading through a rocky terrain southwards of Corno d'Ega (Eggentaler Horn in German), delighting us with a marvellous panorama of the Regglberg and Nova Ponente in South Tyrol (Alto Adige). We have now reached the final destination of our hike and it's time to return back to our starting point. As an alternative, you can descend on path no. 18 and reach Passo Feudo by taking path no. 22 (see also the Hike from the Feudo pass to Mt Latemar and Pampeago).
