This mountain hike below the Latemar massif takes us to Obereggen and back to our starting point via Passo di Pampeago

The Latemar with its unique rock towers is one of the most spectacular mountain ranges of the Val di Fiemme. We take the cable car from Predazzo to Gardonè and then the chair lift to Passo Feudo. The initial part of our hike leads uphill. We follow the signpost no. 516 towards "Rifugio Torre di Pisa". The meadows gradually give way to rocky terrain. As we arrive at the crossroads with path no. 22, we have already completed most of the ascent. We continue along path no. 22 towards Oberholz. The typical, high-alpine landscape above the forest limit is characterised by rocks and meadows covered with mountain flowers.
We are now above the Obereggen ski area in the municipality of Nova Ponente, part of the province of Bolzano. From here, we take path no. 22 to Oberholz until it meets path no. 23. The latter takes us through a varied landscape with forests, meadows and rocky sections to Malga La Mens (Mayrl Alm). From there, we continue along a forest road which then turns into an asphalt road leading to Passo di Pampeago. Here, we walk past the malghe Ganischger and Zigschg and admire the blooming meadows. We take path no. 521 uphill to passo Feudo to end our circular hike. The final part of the path coincides with the geologic path Dos Capel where we can admire the remains of prehistoric seas from which the Dolomites emerged.
