Winter hike to the Lusia Alp

The popular Alpe Lusia Skiing Area is also a gorgeous viewpoint, located in the Paneveggio Nature Park, between the Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa valleys

The Alpe Lusia is not only a paradise for skiers but also a hiking area which attracts many active holidaymakers both in summer and winter. It is located in the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park. From the highest points, the Lagorai mountain chain, Latemar and the famous Pale di San Martino Group can be admired. The alpine pasture is accessible on foot or by cable car.

To reach our starting point, we have to drive towards Passo San Pellegrino at Predazzo in the Val di Fiemme valley. Few km after the village of Bellamonte, we turn to the left and continue until the wide parking space of the El Zirmo mountain hut, also starting point of the cable car (Bellamonte/Castelir).

From the car park, we follow the path through the forest of the nature park to the right of the Rio Canvere river and the Alpe Lusia Ski Area uphill until we reach the path no. 623 (after about 1.5 hours hiking time). There we turn to the left and follow the signposts towards the Passo Lusia.
