A giant fortress to defend the Tyrolean county in times of war.

Where the Val d’Adige meets with the colourful valley leading to Folgaria, you will find the biggest fortress of the Alps. Two mighty walls with a length of 250 and a width of 50 metres surround the castle. And on the upper hills you will find a big arena used for fierce tournaments.
Renovated only recently, Beseno Castle is a true historical treasure. It is well displayed how the fortress has changed in the course of the centuries, from its origins in the 12th century to the alterations in the 16th century, when the regional borders had to be defended against the Venetians.
