Today’s hike to the malghe on Mt Pasubio leads past malga Monticello, Monte Spil and along the Sentiero delle Zie before arriving at the Vincenzo Lancia mountain hut in the mountains of Trambileno

Rifugio Lancia was built in 1940 by the Rovereto branch of the Società degli Alpinisti Tridentini. It owes its name to Vincenzo Lancia, the founder of the Lancia car company, who passed away in 1937. The president of the S.A.T.'s Rovereto branch was one of his close friends, and together they discovered the uniqueness of the alpine environment of Alpe Pozza in the heart of the Presanello mountains.
We drive to the small car park above the village of Giazzera near Trambileno, in the area of Malga Cheserle. Path no. 119 leads first to Malga Monticello, then to Monte Spil, and continues towards Malga Zocchi. For our return, we take path no. 102A (Sentiero delle Zie), and then path no. 101, which leads through a coniferous forest.
The landscape is very varied. In late June, in early summer, typical flowers of the Southern Calcareous Alps bloom here. Monte Spil offers a stunning view of Vallarsa and Monte Zugna.
