This hike leading to the Rifugio Don Zio Pisoni on Monte Casale, offers stunning views of the Dolomites and the nearby Lake Garda

In early June, spring in the mountains has just begun and nature is preparing for the summer. This is the ideal moment for a hike on Monte Casale with its blooming pastures. Our hike starts at the transmission tower, accessible from the asphalted mountain road to the village of Comano. We walk uphill on the forest road (alternatively you can take the shorter but steeper path through the forest) and after approximately an hour of walking, we reach the crossroads Le Quadre at 1,450 m a.s.l., from where we follow signpost no. 411 towards the Rifugio Don Zio Pisoni.
We soon reach extensive pastures on our way to the peak. Having passed the rifugio Don Zio, it is only a few more minutes to the peak, where a beautiful view, ranging from the Valle dei Laghi with Lake Toblino and Lago di Santa Massenza to the deep blue Lake Garda opens up. Unfortunately, today the cloudy sky blocks our view of the Brenta Dolomites and the other mountains, but the hike was still worth it. The meadows, covered with orchids, globe flowers, peonies and a myriad of herbs, will forever remain in our memories for their unique beauty. We retrace our steps to return to the starting point.
