After a long winter we explore Val di Ledro, where spring flowers are already sprouting

The Valle di Ledro is situated above the northern part of Lake Garda. In February and March the first flowers blossom on the sunny slopes near Barcesino. If you drive from Riva del Garda towards Molina di Ledro you need to take the road branching off to the small hamlet of Barcesino. The first signpost no. 451 towards the Santuario "Madonna Addolorata" is situated near the fountain. While walking along this path we admire some snowdrops and primroses.
We ascend through the forest and reach a forest road towards the Val Giumella. While heading towards this valley we hope to find some Easter roses. Even if it is already a bit late, on the slope below the path, shortly after the signpost, there are still some blooming Easter roses. Many of them are already wizened and have different colours, ranging from orange to dark violet. On our return we remain on the forest road without returning to the church of the pilgrimage site. The forest road takes us across a path covered with snowdrops, a true natural spring highlight.
We continue on this path until we reach the village of Molina di Ledro. From there we follow the road of the village until we arrive in Barcesino, the end point of our circular hike.
Information: Snowdrops bloom in late February/early March.
