A comfortable hike through the forest from Passo Mendola to the larch meadows of the Regole di Malosco

The Regole (rules) are an ancient form of communal ownership in the Alps, which, in some cases, is still in force. For centuries, this system regulated the use of common properties such as pastures, meadows and forests, ensuring the survival of mountain communities in large areas of the Alps. The Regole di Malosco, today's destination, owes its name to this form of collective property.
Our starting point is the Passo Mendola near Ruffré. After a short slope, the path signposted no. 2 and no. 515, crosses a forest slope with little change in altitude, always staying at around 1,450 m a.s.l. (Sentiero dei Siori - Wassersteig). Near the Tranzi spring, the path begins a gradual descent of 120 metres to the Regole meadows.
On the wide Regole meadows, surrounded by stunning larch forests, stand various mountain huts, as well as three refreshment points: Albergo Il Falchetto, Rifugio Regole and the restaurant and the ristorante-rifugio La Monteson. In the afternoon, after a pleasant break, we return to our starting point on the same path.
