San Pietro al Monte Calino at 980 m a.s.l. is a natural terrace from where you can enjoy a stunning view of Tenno and Lake Garda, making it an ideal destination for a spring walk

We start in Tenno and after crossing the city centre we follow the signpost of path no. 401 and then the signposts of an ancient path leading to the small hamlet of Calvola and uphill through the forest to the road to San Pietro. After about 500 metres beside an asphalt road, we continue ascending on a path to the right with a short but steep section which ends at Rifugio San Pietro.
Thanks to its beautiful position embedded in nature with a view of Tenno and Lake Garda and its relatively low altitude (980 m a.s.l.), it is among the first mountain huts in Trentino to open for the summer season. After a well-deserved break we proceed our hike towards north on the forest path no. 406 which rejoins the asphalt road.
After 200 metres we turn left and take the forest road towards Casa Bastiani. We continue descending through forests on path no. 406 to the ancient Canale di Tenno - one of Italy's most stunning hamlets - with its typical houses. We walk on a path paralleling the SS421 and return to Tenno where our circular spring hike ends below Monte Calino.
