Hike from Mt Spinale to the Grostè mountain pass

This walking tour takes us from Monte Spinale (2,100 m a.s.l.), near Madonna di Campiglio to Passo del Grostè in the Brenta Dolomites

We start in Madonna di Campiglio, where we take the Spinale cable car to reach an altitude of 2,100 m a.s.l. From Rifugio Dosson (Chalet Fiat), we follow path SAT no. 331 among the malghe of Campiglio. Pietra Grande rises like a canyon to our right and before as Cima Brenta is getting closer and closer. The path leads past the nearby Lago Spinale and then continues slightly uphill to Rifugio Graffer.

Here, a stony but not too steep and thus easy climb leads to Rifugio Stoppani, the mountain station of the Grostè cable car, and then to Passo del Grostè at 2,500 m a.s.l. The view of the Brenta Dolomites, the Adamello group, the Val di Non, the Renon and the eastern Dolomites with the Catinaccio in the background is truly spectacular. However, the peaks of the Dolomites are not the only natural attraction we enjoy here, in fact, also the alpine flora with its bright colours characterises the landscape of the Brenta Dolomites and are particularly appreciated by mountain lovers.
