Mountain tour to Mt Paganella

The Paganella is a mountain group between Trento and Andalo. A famous ski paradise in winter, in the summer months it is an ideal destination for walks and hikes through woods and alpine meadows

The Doss Pelà cable car in the centre of Andalo takes us to the mountain station, the starting point of our hike at 1,730 m a.s.l. in a few minutes. We follow the signpost to Malga Zambana in front of the mountain station and reach it after a 15-minute walk along a forest path. After a coffee break, we continue on the forest path northwards, which leads us through a dense wood, with some short sections on the meadows of the ski slopes. After a large bend, the path begins to ascend towards Dosso Larici. We climb higher and higher and cross the Selletta to reach Cima Paganella. From the rifugio La Roda we have a fantastic view of the Brenta Dolomites, the Val di Non and the Val d'Adige, the Val di Cembra and the Val di Fiemme as well as of Trento and Lake Garda.

Before descending to the valley, we hike to the Rai repeater station, from where we enjoy a fabulous view of Monte Bondone. We take path no. 605 and complete this circular itinerary on forest roads leading past Passo di S. Antonio and Malga Terlago to the cable car station. This easy hike does not have any difficult sections, except for the final kilometre which involves a steep climb to the peak. It is suitable for everyone. Alternatively, the Paganella peak is accessible also by chairlift.
