A beautiful circular hike leads us to the mountain huts of the Val di Rabbi in the Stelvio National Park: Malga Monte Sole, Malga Villar and Malga Cercen Bassa

Malga Monte Sole lies above the forest limit between the peaks bordering the Val di Pejo and features an extensive meadow with deck chairs for sunbathing and an outdoor sauna. The refreshment point is well-known for its excellent organic local delicacies, prepared by the chef and owner of the hut. It is also accessible by car with a permission by the malga, however, we recommend walking along the easy and short forest path, as the food tastes even better after some physical activity.
At the car park we take the forest path to the malga that starts near a small bridge on the right. Alternatively, you could follow the path paralleling the forest road but please keep in mind that it is very steep. On our return we walk to Passo Cercen, a stunning panoramic viewpoint at the border between the valleys of Rabbi and Pejo which is accessible from the hut. The fastest hikers cover this path in about 1.5 hours. At the panoramic viewpoint we turn left and take the forest path no. 109 back to the valley and our starting point, the car park Fontanon.
