We start in Madonna di Campiglio, where we take the Spinale cable car to reach an altitude of 2,100 m a.s.l. From Rifugio Dosson (Chalet Fiat), we follow path SAT no. 331 across the mountain pastures of Campiglio. Pietra Grande rises like a canyon to our right and Cima Brenta is getting closer and closer. The path leads past the nearby Lago Spinale and then continues slightly uphill to Rifugio Graffer.
Here, a stony but not too steep and rather easy path climbs to Rifugio Stoppani, to the mountain station of the Grostè cable car, and then to Passo del Grostè at 2,500 m a.s.l. The view of the Brenta Dolomites, the Adamello group, the Val di Non, the Renon and the eastern Dolomites with the Catinaccio in the background is truly spectacular. However, the peaks of the Dolomites and the stunning views are not the only natural attractions we enjoy here. The colourful alpine flora of the Brenta Dolomites are a true highlight as well.
