Hike from the Vallazza Hut to Lake Juribrutto

This summer hike in the Paneveggio nature park takes us to some lakes and alpine pastures in the Pale di San Martino

The starting point of our summer hike in the Paneveggio Nature Park is Malga Vallazza at 1,935 m a.s.l. This malga along the connection road between the village of Paneveggio in the municipality of Predazzo and the Passo Valles is situated at a significant altitude, reducing the elevation gain we need to cover during the hike. Initially, we ascend along path no. 631.

At a mountain pasture along the riverbank of Rio Vallazza we stay on a paved path and arrive at a small mountain pass at 2,387 m a.s.l., the highest point of our hike in the Pale di San Martino. A signpost marks the path to Lago Juribrutto along which we can admire a fascinating panoramic view of the Pale di San Martino.

A hilly section leads past some lakes and brooks before arriving at an upland from where we can see Lago Juribrutto at 2,208 m. We stop for a break and enjoy this wonderful summer day. Then we take path no. 629 flanking the Rio di Juribrutto to the 300 metres lower Malga Juribrutto. Finally we return to Malga Vallazza, our starting point, by following path no. 623.

If you want you can extend this hike to Malga Bocche starting from Malga Vallazza. This longer alternative leads past Lago Juribrutto before arriving at Malga Bocche.
