A hike to a mountain lake and alpine pastures in the Paneveggio Nature Park reveals summer in the Pale di San Martino

The starting point for our summer hike in the Paneveggio Nature Park is the Vallazza Hut at an altitude of 1,935 metres. It is located along the road from Paneveggio towards Passo Valles, in the municipality of Predazzo. The starting point is already at a high altitude, which means the hike is not too strenuous. We start by following trail number 631 uphill.
After reaching a pasture on the banks of the Rio Vallazza, we stay on the paved path and reach a small saddle, which is also the highest point of the hike in the Pale di San Martino: Here we are at 2,387 metres. A signpost points us towards Lake Juribrutto, and our gaze is drawn to the beauty of the peaks of the Pale di San Martino. The path continues with a constant series of ups and downs, passing some small ponds and streams, until we reach an elevation.
From here, we can see Lake Juribrutto below us. We descend to the mountain lake, which is situated at an altitude of 2,208 metres. We have earned a break, and we take some time to enjoy the Trentino mountain summer. Afterwards, trail number 629 takes us along the Rio di Juribrutto stream to the Malga Juribrutto. The hut is located 300 metres of altitude lower than the lake of the same name. Finally, we follow trail number 623 back to the Vallazza Hut, our starting point.
A longer version of this hike is the one to the Bocche Mountain Hut. It also starts at the Vallazza Hut but is longer, continuing from Lake Juribrutto on to the aforementioned malga.
