Hike from Cheserle to the Rif. V. Lancia mountain hut

Hike to the mountain pastures at the slope of the Pasubio: via the Malga Monticello, the Monte Spil and along the “Sentiero delle Zie” trail to the Rif. Vincenzo Lancia in the mountains of Trambileno.

The Rif. Lancia mountain hut was built in 1940 by the Rovereto Alpine Club and named after Vincenzo Lancia, the founder of the Lancia car brand. Deceased in 1937, Mr. Lancia was a close friend of the president of the Rovereto Alpine Club - together they discovered the beautiful area of the Pozza Alp on Mt. Pasubio.

We drive to the small parking space above the hamlet of Giazzera near Trambileno, located in the surroundings of the Malga Cheserle mountain hut. The trail no. 119 leads us uphill to the Malga Monticello mountain hut and further on to the Monte Spil. We continue our hike downhill to the Malga Zocchi mountain hut and along the path no. 102A (Sentiero delle Zie) through the coniferous forest to the alpine meadows of the Pozza Alp. Finally we reach the Rif. Vincenzo Lancia mountain hut.

The forest path no. 101 leads us back into the valley. The landscape is varied and full of the characteristic flowers of the Southern Calcareous Alps. The Monte Spil offers a beautiful view on the Vallarsa valley and Mt. Zugna on the opposite side of the valley.
