This mountain hike below the Latemar takes us to Obereggen and back via Passo di Pampeago

The Latemar is one of the most spectacular mountain ranges of the Val di Fiemme, thanks to its unique rock towers. We take the cable car from Predazzo to Gardonè and then the chair lift to Passo Feudo. The first part of our hike leads uphill. We follow the signpost no. 516 towards "Rifugio Torre di Pisa". Here, meadows gradually give way to rocky terrain. As we arrive at the crossroads with path no. 22, we have already completed the main ascent. We continue along path no. 22 towards Oberholz. The landscape is characteristic of high-alpine terrain and above the forest limit we can admire rocks and meadows covered with alpine flowers.
Once above the Obereggen ski area, we are in the municipality of Nova Ponente, part of the province of Bolzano. From here, we take path no. 22 to Oberholz until it meets path no. 23. The latter takes us through a varied landscape of forests, meadows and rocky sections to Malga La Mens (Mayrl Alm). From there, we continue along a forest road which then turns into an asphalt road, taking us to Passo di Pampeago. Here we also pass the Malghe Ganischger and Zigschg. We admire the blossoming meadows. Our hike is now almost complete: the final leg involves climbing path no. 521 to Passo Feudo. This last part surprises us, as it coincides with the geologic path Dos Capel, where we find traces of prehistoric seas from which the Dolomites emerged.
